Algiers International Fair to Open on June 22 as Algeria Showcases Economic Potential

ALGIERS — The 57th edition of the Algiers International Fair (FIA) will open on June 22 at the Exhibition Palace (SAFEX), in Pins Maritimes and run for six days, bringing together domestic and international companies across a broad range of sectors.
Widely regarded as Algeria’s flagship economic event, the fair serves as a platform for promoting trade, investment opportunities and international partnerships, while highlighting the country’s industrial capabilities and economic priorities.
Organisers expect strong participation from both businesses and visitors, building on previous editions that attracted hundreds of thousands of attendees. The event provides companies with opportunities to establish commercial contacts, explore investment prospects and develop new business partnerships, while offering visitors an overview of products and services from Algeria and abroad.
This year’s edition will feature exhibitors from sectors including industry, trade, services, technology, agribusiness, energy and mining, among others.
Spain has been designated as the guest of honour, succeeding the Sultanate of Oman, which held the distinction at the previous edition.
The selection comes amid renewed momentum in Algerian-Spanish relations following a series of high-level exchanges and official visits. In March, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares visited Algiers, a trip that was followed by Algeria’s decision to reactivate the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighbourliness and Cooperation signed between the two countries in 2002. Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska also travelled to Algeria in May.
Against this backdrop, the fair will host a conference entitled “Algeria-Spain: High-Potential Economic Cooperation – Assessment and Prospects”, focusing on opportunities to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties.
In addition to exhibition spaces, the programme includes business-to-business meetings, conferences, workshops and interactive demonstrations addressing key economic issues, including geopolitical developments and their impact on global markets.
South-South cooperation will also feature prominently, with dedicated discussions examining Algeria’s role in advancing African economic integration.
The mining sector, identified by Algerian authorities as a strategic driver of economic diversification, will receive particular attention during the event, with stakeholders expected to highlight investment opportunities and the sector’s long-term potential.
Beyond its commercial dimension, the Algiers International Fair is viewed as an important platform for promoting Algeria’s economic image and enhancing its attractiveness as an investment destination.
