Bouamama Inspects Future Headquarters of Algeria’s Media Regulatory Authorities and Press Ethics Council
Communication Minister Zoheir Bouamama has reviewed progress on the redevelopment of the future headquarters that will house Algeria’s independent media regulatory bodies and the Higher Council for Journalistic Ethics, calling for accelerated implementation while maintaining quality standards.

ALGIERS, Algeria — Algeria’s Minister of Communication, Zoheir Bouamama, conducted a working and inspection visit on Tuesday to the former headquarters of the Ministry of Communication, where redevelopment works are underway to accommodate several of the country’s newly established media regulatory institutions.
The project will serve as the future headquarters of the National Independent Audiovisual Regulatory Authority, the Press Regulatory Authority for Print and Electronic Media, and the Higher Council for Ethics and Professional Conduct of Journalists, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Communication.
During the visit, Bouamama received a detailed briefing from the Director-General of the engineering consultancy overseeing the project, who outlined the progress of redevelopment works, the technical specifications of the facility, and the measures being implemented to provide modern working conditions for the institutions that will occupy the premises.
The project’s chief engineer also presented the execution plans, technical documentation, and the current completion rate in the presence of representatives from the Algiers Directorate of Public Facilities and the construction company responsible for the project.
Accompanied by the ministry’s Secretary-General and senior officials supervising the project, Bouamama toured several sections of the construction site and met with engineers, technicians, and workers involved in the redevelopment.
The minister reaffirmed the Ministry of Communication’s commitment to supporting all stakeholders involved in the project by facilitating implementation and ensuring optimal working conditions throughout the construction phase.
At the conclusion of the inspection, Bouamama instructed the relevant services to accelerate the procurement process for the equipment and furnishings required for the new headquarters in order to avoid delays once construction is completed.
He also stressed the importance of adhering to the agreed delivery schedule while ensuring full compliance with contractual specifications and quality standards, enabling the three institutions to begin operations immediately after relocating to their new premises under the best possible conditions.
