Holding ACS Marks GIPEC’s Return to Export Markets with Corrugated Packaging Shipment to Mauritania

ALGIERS, Algeria — Algeria’s Chemicals Specialties Holding (Holding ACS) has announced the successful completion of a major export operation by the GIPEC Group, through its subsidiary SACAR, as part of the country’s strategy to expand non-hydrocarbon exports and strengthen the international presence of Algerian industrial products.

The shipment, destined for the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, comprised more than 80,000 corrugated cardboard units, representing the group’s first export of this product category in over eight years.

According to ACS, the operation marks a strategic return for GIPEC to foreign markets and constitutes the first in a series of planned export initiatives aimed at expanding the regional footprint of Algerian manufactured products.

The holding company described the shipment as evidence of the quality and competitiveness of products manufactured by its subsidiaries, reflecting their growing ability to meet regional market requirements and international standards.

ACS said the export aligns with Algeria’s national strategy to diversify the economy by promoting exports outside the hydrocarbons sector and increasing the contribution of manufacturing industries to external trade.

The company also emphasized its commitment to strengthening the regional positioning of Algerian products while enhancing their competitiveness across African markets.

In addition, the initiative supports Algeria’s broader ambition to reinforce its economic integration with African partners and establish the “Made in Algeria” label as a trusted and competitive brand throughout the continent.

The successful export to Mauritania further illustrates the government’s efforts to encourage industrial production, support export-oriented enterprises, and deepen commercial ties with neighboring African countries as part of its long-term economic diversification strategy.
