Malaysia Seeks to Deepen Educational and Cultural Ties with Algeria Through Expanded Academic Cooperation

Malaysia has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening higher education ties with Algeria following talks at its embassy in Algiers between Ambassador Rizany Mazlan and a delegation from Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), underscoring efforts to expand student mobility, academic partnerships and long-term people-to-people exchanges.

ALGIERS — Malaysia has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening educational and cultural cooperation with Algeria, as the Embassy of Malaysia in Algiers hosted a high-level meeting with representatives of Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), highlighting new opportunities for Algerian students seeking internationally recognized higher education.

During the meeting, Malaysia’s Ambassador to Algeria, H.E. Ambassador Rizany Mazlan, received an EMGS delegation led by Mr. Syed Mohsen Alkaff, Executive Director of Education Malaysia Global Services. Discussions focused on expanding academic partnerships, facilitating student mobility, and promoting Malaysia as a leading destination for international higher education.

The meeting underscored both countries’ shared commitment to fostering stronger people-to-people ties through education, research collaboration, and cultural exchange.

Malaysia has increasingly positioned itself as a regional education hub, offering internationally accredited degree programmes, competitive tuition fees, English-medium instruction, and multicultural learning environments. Through EMGS, the country continues to streamline admission procedures and student services for international applicants while supporting universities in expanding their global outreach.

Educational cooperation has become an increasingly dynamic component of Malaysia-Algeria relations, complementing growing engagement across diplomatic, economic, and cultural fields. Malaysian officials reaffirmed their readiness to deepen collaboration with Algerian universities, research institutions, and academic stakeholders in support of innovation, human capital development, and sustainable knowledge partnerships.

The meeting reflects Malaysia’s continued efforts to enhance its educational presence in North Africa while providing Algerian students with broader access to globally competitive academic opportunities and internationally recognized qualifications.
