Nasri Pays Courtesy Visit to Algerian Embassy in Brazzaville Following Presidential Inauguration Ceremony in Congo
By Dr. Hana Saada
Algeria’s Speaker of the Council of the Nation, Azzouz Nasri, paid a courtesy visit on Thursday to members of the Algerian Embassy in Brazzaville, following his participation as representative of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in the inauguration and swearing-in ceremony of Denis Sassou Nguesso, who was re-elected President of the Republic of Congo after the March presidential election.
The visit took place in the Congolese capital against a backdrop of sustained diplomatic engagement and ongoing efforts to consolidate bilateral relations between the two countries, within broader African institutional frameworks.
He was received at the embassy by senior diplomatic and administrative staff, alongside the Director of Cabinet of the Council of the Nation and the Director of Bilateral African Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs.
As the presidential envoy to the inauguration ceremony, his participation was seen as reflecting Algeria’s diplomatic standing in the Republic of Congo and, more broadly, its continued role in supporting development initiatives, peace efforts, and internationally recognised principles relating to sovereignty and the rights of peoples.
