President Tebboune Dismisses Sidi Abdellah Delegate Governor Over “Serious Professional Misconduct”

ALGIERS — Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Monday terminated the duties of the delegate governor of Sidi Abdellah, M. Benhaddou Djamel Abdelmoumen, citing “serious professional misconduct,” according to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic.
The dismissal concerns the delegate governor responsible for the administrative district of Sidi Abdellah, a rapidly developing urban area on the outskirts of Algiers that hosts the country’s new city project, several higher education institutions, and a university complex comprising multiple faculties and affiliated facilities.
The Sidi Abdellah administrative district has emerged in recent years as a strategic hub for higher education, research, innovation and urban development, forming part of broader national efforts to expand infrastructure and public services in the capital region.
