Border and Southern Regions: 1,366 Budgeted Posts Opened for Youth

ALGIERS — The Ministry of Youth has announced the opening of 1,366 new budgeted positions targeting several border regions and the country’s Grand South, as part of the implementation of presidential directives issued by Abdelmadjid Tebboune during the Council of Ministers meeting of 23 June 2024.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening youth supervision structures and supporting human resources in priority areas, in coordination with the Higher Council of Youth.
According to the ministry, the programme is being implemented in two phases, with 60% of the positions already opened in 2025, while the remaining 40% will be progressively completed in 2026.
As part of the same programme, the ministry also announced the launch of a competitive examination for admission to specialised training for the grade of “principal youth activities educator,” intended for candidates from the wilayas covered by this initiative.
Officials said the measure reflects broader government efforts to enhance youth engagement, improve institutional support in underserved regions, and strengthen local development capacities in border and southern areas.
