University–police partnership in Bordj Bou Arréridj targets skills, security
BY Dr. Hana Saada
Authorities in Bordj Bou Arréridj have formalised cooperation between the local police directorate and Bachir Ibrahimi University, in a move aimed at strengthening public security and enhancing training through academic–operational links.
The agreement, signed by the heads of both institutions, establishes a framework for collaboration designed to improve service delivery while aligning academic training with field realities.
For the university, which has been expanding its engagement with its local environment, the partnership provides students—particularly in law—with practical exposure to issues related to crime and public safety, complementing theoretical instruction. It also supports broader institutional objectives, including reinforcing campus security.
For the police, the arrangement offers structured access to academic expertise, enabling officers and non-commissioned personnel to deepen their theoretical knowledge and pursue formal qualifications, thereby strengthening professional capacity.
The initiative reflects a broader effort to foster skills exchange between public institutions, with authorities positioning the partnership as a mutually reinforcing model serving both local development and national priorities.
