Algeria, Chad move to deepen trade ties and expand business engagement

Kamel Rezig, Minister of External Trade and Export Promotion, held talks on Monday in Algiers with Mathieu Guibolo Fanga, Chad’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, to explore ways of strengthening bilateral economic and commercial cooperation.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the inaugural session of the Algerian-Chadian Business Council, focused on expanding trade flows and reinforcing partnership frameworks in line with both countries’ stated objective of deepening economic ties.

Discussions also covered plans to organise an Algerian products fair in Chad, aimed at showcasing national industrial capacity, highlighting product quality and diversity, and facilitating access for Algerian exporters to the Chadian market.

Both sides emphasised the importance of promoting direct engagement between business communities through the bilateral business council and stepping up joint initiatives to support trade development.

The talks form part of broader efforts to translate political alignment into more structured and sustained economic exchange between the two countries.
