Algeria launches “Sawtoukoum” platform to channel youth feedback and complaints
By Dr. Hana Saada
Algeria’s Ministry of Youth has launched a new digital platform, “Sawtoukoum”, aimed at capturing young people’s concerns and integrating their input into public policy.
Announced on Monday, the initiative forms part of broader efforts to advance digital transformation and promote transparency and engagement with youth, under the direct supervision of the ministry.
The platform allows users to submit concerns, proposals and observations, as well as report shortcomings and irregularities. It also provides real-time tracking of submissions through to their resolution, offering greater visibility over how requests are handled.
Officials said the tool is designed to support a more participatory approach to governance, enabling young people to contribute to the formulation and evaluation of policies that affect them.
The ministry has encouraged broad uptake, positioning the platform as a channel to improve public service performance and strengthen the responsiveness of youth-focused programmes.
