Energy co-operation: Attaf meets OLACDE secretary executive

Algeria’s minister of state and foreign minister, Ahmed Attaf, has received Andrés Rebolledo Smitmans, executive secretary of the Organisation latino-américaine et caribéenne de l’énergie, during an official visit to Algiers, according to a statement from the foreign ministry.
The talks reviewed the state of co-operation between Algeria and the regional body, where the country holds permanent observer status, and explored prospects for expanding ties in line with the capabilities and expertise of both Algeria and its partners in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Discussions covered opportunities across both conventional energy resources and renewable energy, reflecting a shared interest in broadening the scope of engagement.
The two sides also exchanged views on developments in global energy markets and examined ways to strengthen South-South co-operation, particularly through closer coordination in international forums related to the energy sector.
