Algeria steps up consular preparations in France ahead of summer travel season

Sofiane Chaib held a coordination meeting by videoconference on Monday with heads of consular posts in France, as Algeria reviews preparations for the upcoming summer travel period.
The meeting forms part of a series of regular consultations with consular officials abroad and follows up on recommendations issued at the February conference of consular heads, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Discussions focused on the progress of arrangements to facilitate the return of Algerian nationals residing overseas under optimal conditions during the summer season.
Mr Chaib highlighted ongoing efforts to implement the ministry’s action plan to modernise consular services, improve access to administrative procedures and enhance the quality and efficiency of service delivery for the diaspora.
He also issued a set of instructions aimed at further raising service standards, stressing the need for stronger communication with the national community abroad and closer engagement with the home country.
The initiative reflects broader efforts to streamline consular operations while reinforcing ties with Algerians living overseas.
