Algeria, China Explore Expanded Partnership in Emerging Energy
Algeria and China have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral energy cooperation, with both sides expressing interest in expanding collaboration in emerging energy sectors and encouraging greater Chinese investment in Algeria’s evolving energy landscape.

ALGIERS — Algeria and China are seeking to expand their strategic energy partnership, with both countries expressing a shared commitment to strengthening cooperation in emerging energy sectors.
The prospects for enhanced collaboration were discussed during a meeting between Algeria’s Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mohamed Arkab, and Chinese Ambassador to Algeria Dong Guangli, according to a statement from the ministry.
During the meeting, both sides welcomed the progress achieved in Algerian-Chinese cooperation across energy-related fields and reaffirmed their commitment to further consolidating bilateral ties.
Ambassador Dong Guangli expressed China’s readiness to broaden cooperation with Algeria, particularly in the field of emerging energy, highlighting Beijing’s willingness to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
For his part, Minister Arkab underscored the strength of Algeria’s relations with China and welcomed the continued participation of Chinese companies in Algeria’s energy sector, particularly through investment in high-potential emerging energy projects.
The discussions form part of broader efforts by both countries to diversify their energy cooperation beyond conventional hydrocarbons and strengthen long-term strategic partnerships in support of sustainable energy development.
