Tebboune Reaffirms Algeria’s Unwavering Support for Tunisia, Warns Against Any Threat to Its Security
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has reaffirmed Algeria’s unwavering support for Tunisia, declaring that any attempt to destabilise the neighbouring country would be regarded as a direct threat to Algeria, while warning against efforts to bring terrorism to Tunisia’s borders.

ALGIERS — President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has reiterated Algeria’s unwavering support for Tunisia, warning that any attempt to undermine the country’s security would be considered a direct threat to Algeria itself.
Speaking during his periodic meeting with representatives of the national media, scheduled to be broadcast on state television and radio later on Monday, Tebboune delivered one of his strongest statements to date on Algeria’s commitment to safeguarding the stability of its eastern neighbour.
The president stressed that Algeria would not tolerate any attempt to destabilise Tunisia or expose it to terrorist threats.
“Whoever seeks to bring terrorism to Tunisia’s borders or threatens Tunisia through such means will learn who they are dealing with,” Tebboune said.
His remarks reaffirm Algeria’s long-standing position that the security of the neighbouring countries is inseparable, reflecting Algiers’ consistent policy of supporting Tunisia’s stability amid evolving regional security challenges.
Tebboune reiterated that Algeria considers any threat targeting Tunisia to be a direct threat to its own national security, underscoring the strategic interdependence between the two countries.
The president’s remarks come as Algeria continues to place regional stability, counterterrorism cooperation and the protection of its borders at the centre of its foreign and security policy.
