ALGIERS — Algeria’s Higher Education Minister, Kamel Baddari, chaired a high-level coordination meeting on Monday to review the final technical and organisational arrangements for the orientation of students who successfully passed the 2026 Baccalaureate examination, as authorities move toward the next phase of university admissions.

Held at the National Higher School of Computer Science (ESI), the meeting focused on evaluating the operational readiness of the national orientation process, including the technical systems and administrative mechanisms that will govern the allocation of newly admitted students across higher education institutions.

According to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, discussions centred on ensuring that the orientation process is conducted with the highest standards of transparency, fairness and efficiency, while balancing students’ academic preferences with the admission capacities and academic offerings of universities nationwide.

Speaking during the meeting, Baddari described the orientation campaign as a critical component of Algeria’s broader higher education modernisation strategy, emphasizing that an effective allocation process contributes directly to improving student success, enhancing the quality of academic training and strengthening equal access to university education.

The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to developing a more responsive and performance-oriented university system capable of meeting both students’ aspirations and the country’s evolving educational and socio-economic priorities.
