Algeria expands industrial revival drive with new projects in Batna
BY Dr. Hana Saada
Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb has launched and inaugurated several industrial projects in the eastern province of Batna, as part of a broader state-led programme to revive confiscated assets and reintegrate them into the national economy.
The visit, undertaken on behalf of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, included the launch of a metal components manufacturing plant using moulding techniques and the inauguration of a refrigerated truck assembly unit.
Authorities said the projects form part of ongoing efforts to recover and redeploy assets seized in corruption cases, in line with government policy aimed at strengthening productive investment and expanding local industrial capacity.
The initiative is intended to convert previously idle assets into operational industrial units contributing to national development and supporting domestic supply chains.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Interior Minister Saïd Sayoud, Industry Minister Yahia Bachir, and a number of business operators.
