ALGIERS — Algeria’s Ministry of Domestic Trade and Market Regulation has announced the start of the country’s annual summer sales campaign, with retailers authorised to offer discounted goods over a six-week period running until mid-September.

The seasonal promotion is intended to allow consumers to purchase a range of products—including clothing, household textiles and homeware—at reduced prices, while enabling businesses to clear unsold inventory accumulated in storage.

The sales campaign is governed by Executive Decree No. 06-215 of August 18, 2006, which regulates winter and summer sales, promotional offers, stock clearance operations, factory outlet sales and temporary retail sales.

The ministry called on traders to comply fully with the applicable regulations, reminding them that participation in the seasonal sales programme requires submitting an application to the relevant provincial trade directorate.

The required documentation includes the trader’s commercial registration number, a list of products offered during the sales period and the percentage reductions applied to their prices.
