Algeria Pushes Key Eastern Water Link to Reinforce Supply Security

Water Resources Minister Lounes Bouzegza conducted a field visit on Saturday to the Hawaichiya area to assess progress on the main pipeline linking the system from the Koudiet Eddraouch seawater desalination plant.
During the visit, the minister reviewed a detailed briefing on construction progress for the strategic infrastructure project, designed to strengthen water security by supplying potable water to four eastern provinces: El Tarf, Annaba, Guelma and Skikda.
He urged accelerated completion of the works to enable early commissioning of the project, particularly ahead of the summer season, with the aim of improving drinking water distribution services for residents.
Bouzegza also underlined the importance of digitalisation and improved management practices to ensure faster and more efficient handling of public concerns related to water supply.
