Algeria Seizes 36.1 kg of Cannabis Resin in Chlef Anti-Smuggling Operation

Algerian security forces have seized 36.1 kilograms of cannabis resin in a coordinated anti-smuggling operation in Chlef, authorities said.
The operation was carried out by the regional brigade for the fight against fraud and smuggling, supported by a mobile brigade from the same wilaya, in coordination with units of the People’s National Army and the National Gendarmerie.
The quantity seized was believed to be intended for distribution through illicit trafficking networks.
Security forces also confiscated a passenger vehicle used to transport the drugs and arrested a suspect.
The individual has been brought before the competent judicial authorities to face charges related to the possession and trafficking of narcotics.
The seizure forms part of ongoing efforts by security services to dismantle criminal networks and curb drug trafficking nationwide.
