ALGIERS — Algeria is advancing plans to establish a network of integrated export logistics platforms as part of its strategy to strengthen non-hydrocarbon exports and improve the country’s export infrastructure.

Foreign Trade and Export Promotion Minister Kamel Rezig chaired a working meeting on Thursday to examine the proposed project, bringing together representatives from government ministries, public institutions involved in export operations, business associations and employers’ organisations.

The consultations focused on developing a practical framework for integrated logistics platforms designed to improve services available to exporters by facilitating the storage, handling and shipment of goods destined for international markets.

Addressing participants, Rezig said modernising export logistics infrastructure was a key pillar of Algeria’s national strategy to diversify exports beyond hydrocarbons and enhance the international competitiveness of Algerian products.

He stressed the need for closer coordination among government institutions and economic stakeholders, calling for a collaborative approach to ensure the project is implemented in line with international standards while responding to the operational needs of exporters and creating new opportunities for Algerian products in foreign markets.
