Algeria, Switzerland Explore Ways to Deepen Bilateral Cooperation

Algiers — Algeria and Switzerland have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations following talks between Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs Lounès Magramane and Switzerland’s newly appointed Ambassador to Algeria, Marion Weichelt, the Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.
According to the ministry, the Swiss ambassador paid a courtesy visit to Magramane to mark the beginning of her diplomatic mission in Algeria.
The meeting provided an opportunity to commend the quality of Algerian-Swiss relations and the positive momentum characterising bilateral cooperation, particularly following the official visit to Switzerland on 2 April 2026 by Algeria’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf.
Both sides also reviewed avenues for further expanding cooperation across a range of sectors, reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing partnerships that serve the mutual interests of both countries, the ministry added.
