Two terrorists were killed and weapons seized during a joint counterterrorism operation conducted by the People’s National Army and security services in Chlef, underscoring Algeria’s continued efforts to eliminate remaining terrorist networks.

ALGIERS, Algeria — Algeria’s People’s National Army (ANP) has neutralised two terrorists during a counterterrorism operation carried out in Chlef Province, reaffirming the country’s continued commitment to combating terrorism and safeguarding national security.
According to a statement issued Monday by the Ministry of National Defence (MDN), the operation was conducted by combined ANP units in coordination with security services within the Chlef Military Sector of the 1st Military Region.
Intelligence-led security operation
The ministry said the operation was launched following the effective exploitation of intelligence, enabling security forces to locate and engage the armed suspects.
During the operation, two terrorists were killed.
Security forces also recovered two Kalashnikov assault rifles, a quantity of ammunition and other military equipment.
Continued pressure on terrorist remnants
The Ministry of National Defence stated that the operation reflects the continued determination of the People’s National Army to dismantle the remaining terrorist groups operating in the country.
According to the ministry, the success of the operation demonstrates the ANP’s sustained commitment to protecting citizens and preserving national security through coordinated intelligence-driven operations conducted in cooperation with Algeria’s security services.
