The National Police commemorated its 64th anniversary in Tipasa under the theme “Operational Readiness in the Digital Era,” highlighting promotions, honours for retired officers and academic achievers, and reaffirming its commitment to digital modernisation and public security.

TIPASA, Algeria — Algeria’s National Police on Sunday commemorated the 64th anniversary of its establishment, celebrating more than six decades of service while placing renewed emphasis on digital transformation and operational excellence under the theme, “Operational Readiness in the Digital Era.”
The official ceremony, organised by the Tipasa Provincial Police Directorate at the Wilaya Conference Hall, brought together senior security officials, local civil, judicial and military authorities, representatives of the revolutionary family, members of civil society and the families of police personnel.
The event was presided over by the Director of the National Police’s Central Regional Command, alongside the Governor (Wali) of Tipasa.
Honouring service and professional excellence
The anniversary celebrations featured the promotion of several police officers in recognition of their professionalism, commitment and distinguished service to the nation.
Ceremonial demonstrations showcasing operational capabilities and organisational preparedness highlighted the institution’s continued investment in maintaining high professional standards and strengthening its readiness to respond to evolving security challenges.
The event also paid tribute to retired police officers, recognising their years of dedicated service and the sacrifices made throughout their careers in safeguarding national security and protecting citizens.
In addition, children of police personnel who achieved outstanding academic results in national examinations received awards in recognition of their educational excellence, reflecting the institution’s commitment to encouraging academic achievement within the police community.
Advancing digital policing
As part of the anniversary programme, attendees viewed a documentary produced by the National Police Communication Directorate entitled “Operational Readiness in the Digital Era.”
The presentation highlighted the ongoing modernisation of Algeria’s police services through the integration of advanced digital technologies, innovative operational tools and modern policing methods designed to enhance public security, improve institutional efficiency and support the country’s broader digital transformation agenda.
The anniversary celebrations underscored the National Police’s continued commitment to combining operational preparedness with technological innovation while reinforcing its role in ensuring public safety and strengthening citizens’ trust in state institutions.
