Algerian Authorities Mobilise Full Emergency Response Following Fatal Workers’ Bus Crash in Constantine
Six people were killed and 24 others injured after a workers’ bus veered off National Road No. 79 and plunged down an embankment in Constantine province. Local authorities have deployed extensive medical and logistical resources to provide immediate care for the victims and support their families.

ALGIERS – Algerian authorities on Thursday launched a large-scale emergency response following a fatal road accident involving a workers’ transport bus on National Road No. 79 in the municipality of Ibn Ziad, Constantine province.
According to the official toll, the crash claimed the lives of six people and left 24 others injured after the bus veered off the roadway and plunged into a ravine.
Local authorities said all available human and material resources had been mobilised to ensure the swift evacuation and treatment of the injured.
As part of the emergency response, provincial officials visited the Ibn Badis University Hospital to assess the reception and medical care provided to the victims. During the visit, instructions were issued to ensure the availability of all necessary medical, logistical and psychological support until the injured make a full recovery.
The authorities also extended their condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident and wished the injured a speedy and complete recovery.
