Six Killed in Tiaret Road Collision Hours After Deadly Constantine Bus Crash
Algeria witnessed another fatal road accident on Thursday after six people were killed in a collision between a passenger vehicle and a truck in Tiaret province, only hours after a separate crash in Constantine claimed six lives, renewing concerns over road safety.

ALGIERS — Algeria recorded another deadly road accident on Thursday after six people were killed in a collision between a passenger vehicle and a truck in Tiaret Province, just hours after a separate fatal crash in Constantine left six people dead and dozens injured.
According to the Civil Protection Directorate, emergency services responded at 3:24 p.m. to a serious collision on Provincial Road No. 2 in the municipality of Chehaïma, where a passenger vehicle collided with a heavy truck.
A preliminary assessment released by rescue authorities confirmed that six people died at the scene.
Civil Protection mobilised significant emergency resources, including a rescue truck and four ambulances, to manage the operation and evacuate victims. Rescue efforts were still underway when the statement was issued, with officials indicating that the casualty toll could change as operations continued.
The latest tragedy occurred only hours after another fatal accident in Constantine Province, where a bus transporting workers veered off National Road No. 79 near the municipality of Ibn Ziad before plunging into a ravine. That accident claimed six lives and injured 24 others.
