ALGIERS — The Wilaya of Algiers will launch the ninth edition of its large-scale clean-up campaign on Friday, August 7, with operations continuing through August 8 across all municipalities of the capital as part of ongoing efforts to improve the urban environment and public living conditions.
According to a statement issued by the Wilaya, the initiative is being organised under the patronage of Mohamed Abdenour Rabehi, Minister of State and Governor of the Wilaya of Algiers, in implementation of his directives calling for intensified efforts to preserve urban cleanliness.
The campaign will be supervised by the governors of the capital’s 14 administrative districts and will target major thoroughfares, densely populated neighbourhoods and residential areas throughout Algiers.
Provincial services—including administrative districts, executive directorates and public enterprises operating under the Wilaya—will participate in the operation, with all necessary human and material resources mobilised to ensure its successful implementation.
The Wilaya said the initiative also aims to strengthen civic awareness and collective responsibility by encouraging residents and civil society organisations to play an active role in preserving the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the Algerian capital.
