Algerian Red Crescent Mobilises Nationwide Relief Operations as Wildfires Hit Multiple Provinces
The Algerian Red Crescent has deployed volunteers, emergency response teams and humanitarian assistance across numerous wildfire-affected provinces, reinforcing national emergency efforts through large-scale field operations and support for displaced families.

ALGIERS — The Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) has launched a nationwide emergency response to support authorities battling wildfires across several provinces, mobilising volunteers, field teams and humanitarian resources as part of its role as an auxiliary partner to public authorities.
The organisation said its provincial committees activated emergency response plans from the earliest stages of the crisis, deploying personnel and logistical resources to assist civil protection services and other state agencies involved in containing the fires and supporting affected communities.
The Algerian Red Crescent has carried out extensive field operations across the provinces of Bouira, Béjaïa, Skikda, Souk Ahras, Annaba, Médéa, Khenchela, Mila, Mascara, El Tarf, Oran, Blida, Saïda, Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbès, Aïn Témouchent, Batna, Boumerdès and Tizi Ouzou.
The humanitarian response has focused on providing immediate assistance to residents affected by the fires while supporting national firefighting efforts.
Relief operations have included the distribution of drinking water, food supplies, ready-to-eat meals, blankets, mattresses and other essential relief items. Volunteers have also provided first aid services, accompanied affected families and delivered emergency humanitarian assistance to those impacted by the wildfires.
The deployment comes as Algeria continues to confront a series of seasonal wildfires that have prompted a nationwide emergency response involving the Civil Protection services, security forces, local authorities and a wide range of public institutions and civil society organisations.
The Algerian Red Crescent said all of its operational structures and provincial committees remain on high alert and will continue monitoring developments on the ground, assessing humanitarian needs and mobilising available resources to ensure a rapid and effective response as the situation evolves.
The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining continuous field operations in coordination with the relevant authorities in order to mitigate the humanitarian impact of the fires and provide sustained support to affected communities.
