Algeria’s ENTMV Denies Claims of ‘Badji Mokhtar 3’ Seizure, Says Ferry Undergoing Scheduled Maintenance in Greece
Algeria’s National Company for Maritime Passenger Transport (ENTMV) has firmly rejected social media claims that its flagship ferry Badji Mokhtar 3 was seized, clarifying that the vessel is currently undergoing its annual scheduled maintenance at a shipyard in Greece.

ALGIERS, Algeria — Algeria’s National Company for Maritime Passenger Transport (ENTMV) has categorically denied reports circulating on social media alleging that its passenger ferry Badji Mokhtar 3 had been seized, describing the claims as entirely unfounded.
In an official statement issued on Tuesday, the state-owned maritime operator clarified that the vessel is currently docked at a shipyard in Greece, where it is undergoing its pre-scheduled annual technical maintenance and overhaul.
ENTMV stressed that the maintenance operation forms part of the company’s regular annual servicing program, designed to ensure the vessel’s safety, operational reliability and compliance with international maritime standards before returning to service.
The company acknowledged that the maintenance schedule has experienced delays, attributing the setback to technical constraints beyond its control. It added that efforts are underway to complete the work and minimize the impact on operational planning.
ENTMV also urged the public to disregard unverified information circulating on social media and to rely exclusively on official communications issued by the company regarding its fleet and operations.
