Algeria’s National Gendarmerie Launches Official Social Media Accounts to Strengthen Public Engagement
The Algerian National Gendarmerie has officially launched verified accounts on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok as part of its strategy to improve communication with citizens, provide timely official information and expand public awareness on security-related issues.

ALGIERS, Algeria — Algeria’s National Gendarmerie has officially launched its presence on major social media platforms, opening verified accounts on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok under the name “Algerian National Gendarmerie” as part of efforts to strengthen communication with the public and improve access to official information.
In a statement, the National Gendarmerie Command said the new digital platforms are intended to serve as official channels for publishing information on the institution’s activities, operational missions, official statements and public announcements.
The initiative is designed to ensure that citizens receive accurate, reliable and timely information directly from official sources while countering misinformation circulating online.
Beyond disseminating official communications, the accounts will also support the Gendarmerie’s public awareness campaigns by sharing guidance on various security-related issues and promoting preventive measures aimed at enhancing public safety.
The National Gendarmerie said the launch forms part of its broader strategy to modernize institutional communication, strengthen direct engagement with citizens and reinforce public confidence by facilitating easier access to official information through widely used digital platforms.
