Algeria’s Health Ministry, Sanofi Algeria Sign Strategic Partnership to Address Type 2 Inflammatory Diseases
BY Dr. Hana Saada
ALGIERS, June 17 — The Ministry of Health and Sanofi Algeria have signed a strategic partnership agreement aimed at strengthening prevention, awareness, and training efforts related to type 2 inflammatory diseases, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and atopic dermatitis (eczema).
The agreement is part of a broader initiative to reinforce public–private cooperation in the healthcare sector, with the stated objective of improving patient care and disease management frameworks.
According to the terms of the partnership, the two parties aim to promote early diagnosis of inflammatory conditions, enhance the skills of healthcare professionals, and improve the overall quality of treatment provided to patients across relevant medical structures.
Health officials and representatives of Sanofi Algeria said the initiative reflects a shared commitment to supporting national public health priorities and addressing the growing burden of chronic inflammatory diseases through coordinated medical and institutional action.
The partnership is also expected to include awareness campaigns and professional training programmes designed to strengthen clinical capacities and improve patient outcomes, particularly in the management of respiratory and dermatological inflammatory conditions.
Both sides emphasised that the agreement aligns with Algeria’s ongoing efforts to modernise its healthcare system and improve access to specialised care for patients living with chronic diseases.
