SAA Achieves Triple ISO Certification and Consolidates Market Leadership

Algiers — The National Insurance Company (SAA) announced on Tuesday in Algiers that it has obtained three ISO certifications, marking what its management described as a “historic milestone” in its modernisation and organisational transformation strategy.
The announcement was made during a ceremony held in the capital, where SAA confirmed it had secured ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management), and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety management), making it the first national company to deploy a fully integrated management system covering all three standards.
Speaking on the occasion, SAA CEO Youcef Benmicia said the achievement reflects the company’s sustained performance in 2025, which enabled it to consolidate its leadership position in the national insurance market.
He noted that the ISO 9001 certification had already been obtained in 2022, with the remaining two standards completed progressively as part of a broader organisational reform process.
According to Benmicia, the integrated certification strategy aims to streamline internal procedures, improve coordination between departments, and strengthen corporate culture around “global managerial excellence.” He added that the approach enhances service quality and aligns the company’s operations with international standards.
The certification process mobilised around 60 staff members and involved comprehensive audits covering both central management and regional directorates. Operational, technical, financial, and governance-related adjustments were implemented across the organisation to meet compliance requirements.
Benmicia emphasised that maintaining these standards will be the company’s next major challenge, noting that an internal audit team will ensure continued adherence to ISO requirements.
He described the certification as a structural transformation tool that reinforces SAA’s positioning as a reference player in the insurance sector, adding that it forms part of the company’s strategic vision toward 2030.
He further stated that the objective is to develop a modern, innovative, and socially responsive insurer capable of strengthening its competitiveness and contributing to national economic development.
Representatives from certification bodies Intertek and QCM, who supported the process, highlighted the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and its alignment with international best practices.
In a separate update delivered on the same occasion, SAA announced strong financial results for 2025, reporting a turnover of 38 billion dinars, up 15.7% compared to 2024.
The company said this performance secured its position as market leader with a 22.8% share of the national insurance sector. Net profit stood at 3.3 billion dinars, broadly stable compared to the previous year, with all key financial indicators remaining positive.
Management described the 2025 results as “very satisfactory,” adding that the outlook for 2026 remains favourable, supported by solid financial fundamentals and continued growth in investments and placements.
