Algiers Hosts 57th International Fair as President Tebboune Opens Major Economic Showcase with Spain as Guest of Honour

ALGIERS — President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Monday afternoon inaugurated the 57th edition of the International Fair of Algiers (FIA) at the Exhibition Palace (SAFEX) in Pins maritimes, in a flagship economic event held under the high patronage of the President of the Republic and centred on the theme “Trust and Stability for Sustainable Growth,” with Spain featured as guest of honour.
The ceremony, which brought together senior state officials, members of the government and representatives of national economic institutions, marks one of Algeria’s key annual commercial and investment gatherings, designed to showcase production capacities and deepen international economic partnerships.
Upon arrival at the exhibition centre, President Tebboune was received by senior state officials and cabinet members, alongside institutional and economic representatives. He immediately began his tour at the Spanish pavilion, where he reviewed a range of participating companies and was briefed on bilateral economic cooperation frameworks, reflecting strengthening Algerian–Spanish commercial ties.
The President subsequently received a detailed presentation on the 57th edition of the fair, including statistical data and sectoral indicators, delivered by the Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation, Amel Abdellatif, outlining participation levels and the strategic orientation of the event.
Continuing his tour, President Tebboune visited the pavilion of the Ministry of National Defence, where he was briefed on various military industries and production facilities of the People’s National Army (ANP), highlighting growing integration of domestic industrial capabilities within the national economic framework.
He also toured the national pavilions of Chad, Tunisia and the Sultanate of Oman, each represented by companies operating across multiple sectors, underscoring the fair’s expanding regional and international dimension.
The FIA remains one of Algeria’s most significant economic platforms, serving as a convergence point for domestic and foreign investors and reflecting national priorities of economic diversification, industrial development and strengthened trade partnerships.
