Nasri Pays Tribute to Members of the Presidential Third Parliamentary Group at End of Mandate
BY Dr. Hana Saada
ALGIERS — The President of the Council of the Nation, Azouz Nasri, honoured on Monday in Algiers the members of the parliamentary group of the presidential third whose mandate is coming to an end, in recognition of their six years of service since their appointment in 2020, according to a statement issued by the upper house of Parliament.
The ceremony, held in the presence of members of the Council’s bureau, heads of parliamentary groups, and several senior officials of the legislative institution, highlighted what Nasri described as the “efforts, sense of responsibility, and commitment” demonstrated by the members of the group throughout their mandate.
Nasri praised their contribution to strengthening the institutional dynamics of the Council of the Nation, improving its performance, and enhancing the effectiveness of its legislative and oversight functions. He noted that their work had taken place during a period marked by significant national reform momentum, particularly following the 1 November 2020 Constitution and ongoing institutional restructuring processes.
He further commended their “sincere contribution” to improving parliamentary performance in service of the higher interests of the country, stressing that such responsibility transcends positions and formal functions. He also extended his best wishes to the outgoing members for success in their future professional and national engagements, encouraging them to continue contributing to national development.
For his part, Saad Arous, head of the parliamentary group, welcomed the initiative, stating that it reflects a culture of institutional recognition and appreciation for those who have served Parliament. He recalled that the members were appointed in 2020 by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and stressed their commitment to supporting the national reform process alongside other political currents.
The ceremony honoured several outgoing members, including Amar Abdelhamid Mahi Bahi, Saad Arous, Mohamed Bouziane, Mohammed Belhadj, Ahmed Benai, Belkacem Abdelali, Noureddine Tadj, Omar Dadi Adoune, Abdelmadjid Bengueddache, El Hadj Nour, and Miloud Hanafi.
