Arkab to Join PwC CEO Survey as Algeria Frames Energy Sovereignty Agenda
BY Dr. Hana Saada
Algeria’s Minister of State for Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, Mohamed Arkab, is set to participate on Tuesday in Algiers in the second edition of the CEO Survey organised by PwC, held under the theme “Sovereignty and Resilience: A New Economic Course for Algeria.”
The event forms part of a broader national effort to deepen economic dialogue and align perspectives among policymakers, business leaders and experts. High-level sessions will bring together government officials, corporate executives and specialists to address strategic issues, with a particular focus on the hydrocarbons sector.
Discussions are expected to centre on Algeria’s efforts to enhance the value of its energy resources, improve the sector’s attractiveness to investors and expand value chains, with the aim of driving wealth creation and supporting economic diversification.
The central role of hydrocarbons in strengthening economic sovereignty will also be highlighted, against the backdrop of global energy transitions, including evolving dynamics related to energy security and sustainable development.
Broader themes on the agenda include corporate growth prospects, improvements to the business climate, and the reinforcement of digital and health sovereignty, alongside economic and financial reforms aimed at stimulating investment and fostering a renewed growth trajectory.
The gathering positions energy policy within a wider reform framework, linking sovereignty to investment, resilience and long-term economic recalibration.
