Boumerdès Bus Crash: Three Suspects Remanded in Custody Pending Investigation
A Boumerdès investigating judge has ordered the provisional detention of three defendants over the July 31 overturning of a passenger bus, with prosecutors citing charges including involuntary manslaughter, involuntary injuries and the deliberate issuance of documents containing false information.

BOUMERDÈS — An investigating judge at the Boumerdès Tribunal has ordered the provisional detention of three defendants in connection with the overturning of a passenger bus in the province on July 31, the Prosecutor General at the Boumerdès Tribunal said Saturday.
The decision followed the questioning of the three defendants by the investigating judge, according to the prosecutor, who disclosed the details during a press conference on the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
The defendants were remanded in provisional detention on charges including participation in the involuntary manslaughter of several people resulting from a traffic accident involving a collective passenger transport vehicle.
They are also facing charges related to involuntary injuries caused to several people in connection with the same accident, as well as the deliberate preparation or issuance of decisions or certificates attesting to inaccurate facts, the prosecution said.
The judicial proceedings remain ongoing as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and determining the individual responsibilities of those involved.
