ALGIERS — The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved seven stadiums to host Algeria’s national team matches in the qualifying campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) announced on its official website.

The approved venues are Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran, 19 May 1956 Stadium in Annaba, Nelson Mandela Stadium, 5 July 1962 Stadium and Ali Ammar Stadium in Algiers, Chahid Hamlaoui Stadium in Constantine, and Hocine Aït Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou.

Placed in Group I, Algeria will begin its qualifying campaign at home against Zambia in September 2026, before travelling to face Burundi in the second matchday.

The “Greens” will then host Togo in November 2026, before an away fixture in Lomé against the same opponent in the return leg. The final two matches of the group stage are scheduled between March 22 and 30, 2027, with Algeria travelling to Lusaka to face Zambia before concluding at home against Burundi.

The top two teams in the group will qualify for the final tournament, scheduled to be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania from June 19 to July 17, 2027.

This edition marks the first time the Africa Cup of Nations will be jointly hosted by three countries in East Africa, as well as the return of the tournament finals to the region after a 51-year absence.

A total of 48 teams are competing in the qualifiers, including the three host nations, which will also participate in the qualification phase. Each group will send its top two teams to the finals, along with additional qualifying slots allocated to the host groups.
