ORAN — The authorities in the western Algerian province of Oran have officially launched the 2026 summer season from Andalouses beach, announcing full free access to beaches and beach facilities, alongside a regulated parking system with symbolic pricing for authorised car parks.

Oran Governor Ibrahim Ouchan said, during the launch ceremony, that 32 beaches across the wilaya have been fully prepared to receive holidaymakers under improved organisational and safety conditions.

He stressed that the guiding principle for the 2026 season is “full free access”, confirming that entry to beaches as well as the use of chairs and tables will remain completely free throughout the season, which runs until 30 September.

“Free access to beaches is a non-negotiable principle, and we will not tolerate any violations in this regard,” the governor stated.

Regarding parking management, Ouchan announced a unified symbolic fee of 100 Algerian dinars for licensed car parks accommodating more than 50 vehicles. Smaller parking areas with fewer than 50 spaces will remain entirely free of charge.

He also underlined that all available human and material resources have been mobilised to ensure the comfort and safety of visitors, including local residents, domestic tourists, and members of the Algerian diaspora.

The seasonal plan involves coordination between multiple services, including the National Gendarmerie, police, Civil Protection units, and coast guard services, in addition to forestry departments, the Islamic Scouts, and local associations.

To improve public service accessibility, the governor announced the deployment of Algerie Poste services on major beaches through fixed points and a mobile unit, allowing holidaymakers to withdraw cash without leaving coastal areas.
