ALGIERS — Azouz Nasri, President of the Council of the Nation, and Brahim Boughali, Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (APN), extended congratulations on Sunday to students who successfully passed Algeria’s 2026 Middle School Certificate examination, emphasizing the central role of education in the country’s long-term development strategy.
In separate messages published on the social media platform X following the announcement of the examination results, the two senior officials praised the achievements of successful candidates and acknowledged the contributions of families and the wider educational community.
Nasri said the success recorded by students reflected sustained efforts across the education sector and highlighted what he described as the importance attached by the Algerian state to education and training. He also paid tribute to parents, teachers and educational staff, sharing in what he characterized as a well-deserved achievement for the successful candidates.
According to Nasri, the education sector occupies a strategic place in national development policies, given its role in preparing future generations and supporting the country’s long-term progress. He noted that these efforts are being pursued within the broader framework of state policies aimed at strengthening educational standards and opportunities.

Boughali likewise marked the occasion with a message directed to successful candidates, describing their results as evidence of dedication and sustained effort throughout the academic year.
“Your success demonstrates the sincerity of your efforts and constitutes a well-deserved reward,” he wrote, according to his published statement.
The Speaker of the lower house of Parliament also wished students continued success in the next stages of their academic journey, expressing hope that they would contribute in the future to Algeria’s development and national advancement.
The congratulatory messages were issued after the Ministry of National Education announced the results of the 2026 Middle School Certificate examination, which recorded a national pass rate of 65.19%, with more than half a million school candidates obtaining the certificate and qualifying for secondary education.
