Domestic Airlines Expands Domestic Network with Two New Air Routes
BY Dr. Hana Saada
Algiers — Domestic Airlines announced the launch of two new domestic air routes beginning May 24 as part of an ongoing strategy to strengthen national connectivity and expand inter-regional air transport across Algeria.
According to a company statement, the new services will operate on the routes Algiers–Oran–Timimoun–Algiers and Algiers–Annaba–El Oued–Annaba–Algiers.
The Algiers–Oran–Timimoun–Algiers service will operate every Sunday, while the Algiers–Annaba–El Oued–Annaba–Algiers route will be scheduled every Monday.
The carrier said the expansion forms part of broader efforts to reinforce Algeria’s domestic aviation network, improve connectivity between provinces and facilitate passenger mobility amid growing economic activity and regional development.
The company has accelerated its domestic expansion strategy since the beginning of the year, launching more than 22 new routes aimed at extending air access to additional cities and strengthening interconnectivity between northern, southern, eastern and western regions of the country.
Earlier this year, Domestic Airlines introduced multiple regional connections linking Algiers, Tiaret, Adrar, Tamanrasset, Djanet, Illizi, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Constantine, Ghardaïa, Sétif and Oran through integrated flight circuits designed to support domestic mobility and Saharan tourism.
The airline stated that its long-term objective is to interconnect all regions of Algeria through a denser national network capable of supporting economic diversification, investment deployment and more fluid passenger transportation nationwide.
