Saïd Sayoud Oversees Rollout of New Provinces and Electoral Preparations in Algeria

Algiers — Algeria’s Interior Minister Saïd Sayoud chaired, Thursday afternoon, a coordination meeting dedicated to monitoring the progress of the establishment of 11 new wilayas and reviewing logistical preparations for upcoming electoral events at their level, according to a ministry statement.
The meeting, held via videoconference, focused on the operational rollout of the new administrative divisions, namely Aflou, Barika, Ksar Chellala, Messaad, Aïn Oussara, Bou Saâda, El Abiodh Sidi Cheikh, El Kantara, Bir El Ater, Ksar El Boukhari and El Aricha.
Discussions also covered electoral logistics in these newly created wilayas, in the presence of governors of both parent wilayas and the new administrative entities, alongside senior officials from the ministry.
During the session, detailed briefings were presented on the state of implementation of the installation process, including the availability of administrative headquarters and infrastructure, infrastructure and equipment development programmes, as well as the mobilisation of human resources and logistical means required to ensure the proper functioning of new public services.
The minister stressed the need to mobilise all necessary resources for the coordinators of the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE), and to ensure close coordination among all stakeholders in order to guarantee optimal preparation for the electoral process.
He further called for sustained efforts, increased field coordination, and timely completion of all arrangements, highlighting the State’s commitment to improving public service delivery and bringing administration closer to citizens.
