Government Reviews Real Estate Investment Framework and Skills Mapping for Strategic Projects

ALGIERS – The Algerian government on Wednesday examined a draft executive decree setting out the conditions and procedures for making state-owned land transferable for commercial real estate development projects, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.
The proposed decree forms part of the broader strategy pursued by Algeria’s public authorities regarding economic land management, with the objective of enhancing the attractiveness of investment in the real estate sector and facilitating the implementation of commercial property development projects.
According to the government, the initiative is intended to strengthen the investment climate by providing a clearer regulatory framework governing access to state-owned land earmarked for economic activities.
During the meeting, the government also reviewed a presentation on the mapping of professions and skills linked to major strategic projects currently under implementation or planned for launch in the coming years.
The presentation focused on aligning vocational education and training programmes with the workforce requirements generated by large-scale national development projects, with the aim of ensuring the availability of qualified labour capable of supporting economic growth and industrial expansion.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to improve coordination between training institutions and labour market needs, while strengthening the employability of graduates and supporting the successful delivery of strategic infrastructure and investment projects across the country.
