The Tipaza Court of Appeal football team won the 2026 Judges’ Cup, defeating the M’Sila Court of Appeal 2-1 in the tournament’s final to secure the title after an impressive campaign.

The final was held at the Military Sports Teams Training and Preparation Centre in Ben Aknoun, where the match was played in front of senior government officials and representatives from judicial institutions across the country.

Both teams delivered a competitive and disciplined performance, with Tipaza ultimately edging the closely contested encounter by two goals to one to lift the trophy in the tournament’s second edition.

The awards ceremony was presided over by Justice Minister and Keeper of the Seals Lotfi Boudjemaa, in the presence of Interior, Local Assemblies and Urban Planning Minister Saïd Sayoud, Sports Minister Walid Sadi, Tipaza Governor Mohamed Amine Benchaouia, and several senior state officials and justice sector representatives.

The officials presented the trophy and medals to the winning team during a ceremony marking the conclusion of the competition.

Justice Minister Praises Spirit of Competition

Addressing the closing ceremony, Boudjemaa said the second edition of the Judges’ Cup had demonstrated the growing importance of the competition in promoting sportsmanship and strengthening professional ties within Algeria’s judicial community.

“In an outstanding sporting atmosphere characterised by fair competition and the highest judicial values, the curtain has fallen on the second edition of the Judges’ Cup,” the minister said.

He congratulated the Tipaza Court team on winning the title while also praising the M’Sila Court team for its performance and sportsmanship throughout the final.

Boudjemaa noted that the significance of the competition extended beyond the championship match itself, thanking all participating teams that competed in the qualifying stages involving judicial councils from across Algeria.

According to the minister, the broad participation reflects the growing status of the tournament and the competitive spirit it has fostered among members of the judiciary.

He also stressed that judges are an integral part of society and that sporting activities contribute to strengthening communication, teamwork and professional cohesion.

The Judges’ Cup forms part of the Ministry of Justice’s efforts to encourage sport within the judicial sector by promoting teamwork, collegiality and healthy competition outside the workplace.

The successful organisation of the tournament’s second edition reinforces the ministry’s ambition to establish the competition as a permanent annual fixture bringing together representatives of Algeria’s judicial councils in an atmosphere of mutual respect, fair play and professional solidarity.
