National Judges’ Sports Club Eyes Broader Sporting Programme Following Success of Judges’ Cup
Club spokesperson Fouad Keroum says the organisation plans to expand beyond football by launching competitions in additional sports while placing greater emphasis on women’s participation in the judicial sector.

The National Judges’ Sports Club plans to broaden its sporting activities beyond football following the success of its flagship Judges’ Cup competition, according to the club’s spokesperson, Fouad Keroum.
Speaking after the final of the 2026 Judges’ Cup, Keroum said the club has made steady progress since its establishment nearly two years ago and is now preparing to expand its programme to include a wider range of sporting disciplines.
“Since its creation, the National Judges’ Sports Club has organised several sporting activities, most notably football competitions, which have enjoyed sustained success,” he said. “The second edition of the Judges’ Cup has once again demonstrated the growing importance of this tournament within Algeria’s judicial community.”
Keroum said the club’s next phase of development would focus on introducing additional team sports, including handball and volleyball, while studying the possibility of launching competitions in other disciplines to encourage broader participation among judges and justice sector employees.
Greater Focus on Women’s Sport
The spokesperson said promoting women’s sport within the judiciary would be one of the club’s principal priorities in the coming period.
According to Keroum, the organisation intends to launch a range of sporting activities and competitions specifically designed for female judges as part of efforts to expand participation across the judicial sector and strengthen women’s presence in different sporting disciplines.
He said the initiative is consistent with the club’s broader objective of encouraging all members of the justice sector to take part in organised sporting activities and fostering greater engagement through inclusive programmes.
Keroum’s remarks come as the National Judges’ Sports Club seeks to build on the momentum generated by the second edition of the Judges’ Cup, which concluded with the Tipaza Court of Appeal defeating the M’Sila Court of Appeal 2-1 in the final. Club President Mohamed Nadjib Meratla has already announced plans to further expand the competition, including the possible introduction of a Judges’ Super Cup and future regional and international tournaments, reflecting the organisation’s ambition to establish a broader sporting calendar for Algeria’s judicial community.
