President Tebboune Hails Algeria’s “Historic” Sporting Haul of 122 Medals in One Month

Algeria’s President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Monday praised the country’s recent sporting performance, expressing pride in the significant rise in overall standards driven by the determination of Algerian athletes.
In a message posted on his official social media accounts, the president said he was “very proud of the general sporting level achieved in Algeria thanks to the determination of our girls and boys, who have always lived up to our confidence and will continue to do so.”
He highlighted the scale of recent results, noting that Algerian athletes secured 122 medals—including 46 gold—across world and African championships as well as international competitions within a single month.
The president described the tally as a “historic achievement” made possible by sustained efforts, extending thanks to athletes and coaching staff while offering his congratulations.
The figures point to a sharp surge in results, consolidating Algeria’s competitive presence across multiple disciplines.
