Djellaoui Pushes to Accelerate Road Network Projects in Southern and Border Provinces

Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Abdelkader Djellaoui has ordered the removal of field-level bottlenecks and the accelerated completion of road network projects in Algeria’s southern and border regions, according to an official statement.
Chairing a coordination meeting on the progress of the national road development programme, Djellaoui called for tighter deadlines and strict adherence to implementation schedules. He also announced the dispatch of technical inspection teams from central departments to assess delayed projects and enforce corrective measures.
The meeting, attended by senior officials, representatives of the Ministry of National Defence, and public works directors from several provinces, reviewed mechanisms to improve coordination, including the establishment of a governor-led arbitration committee to oversee project execution from launch to delivery.
Djellaoui said the programme carries strategic importance for balanced regional development, improved living conditions, and economic and social dynamism. Regional directors presented progress reports on ongoing projects and proposals to accelerate delivery timelines.
