Algiers – November 2025 – In a high-level diplomatic engagement reflecting the depth and maturity of Algerian–Egyptian relations, Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb was received on Tuesday at the Al-Ittihadiya Presidential Palace by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi. The meeting, marked by cordiality and strategic clarity, reaffirmed the steadfast will of both leaderships to elevate bilateral cooperation to unprecedented levels.

According to a communiqué from the Prime Minister’s office, Ghrieb conveyed the fraternal greetings of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, along with his sincere appreciation for Egypt’s partnership and his firm commitment to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood that unite the two nations. He emphasized Algeria’s readiness to deepen bilateral cooperation across a broad spectrum of sectors in line with the strategic orientations of the two Heads of State.

President Al-Sissi, for his part, expressed profound gratitude to President Tebboune, highlighting the importance of the constant and constructive communication between the two leaders. He reaffirmed the high regard in which Algeria is held by the Egyptian leadership, government and people, acknowledging the shared history of struggle that continues to shape the relationship between the two countries.

Describing Algeria and Egypt as “two central pillars of stability in the Arab world and North Africa,” President Al-Sissi stressed the imperative of enhancing coordination and consultation on regional and international issues of common interest. Such coordination, he noted, is essential for enabling both countries to fulfil their responsibilities in safeguarding regional stability and contributing to collective development.

The Egyptian President also underscored his country’s commitment to expanding economic cooperation, praising the current level of bilateral relations and the tangible progress achieved in joint partnership projects. He reiterated Egypt’s readiness to mobilize all available efforts to align economic exchanges with the vast potential and complementary capacities of the two economies. President Al-Sissi further expressed his hopes for the success of the Ninth Session of the High Joint Commission, scheduled for Wednesday, insisting on rigorous follow-up and concrete implementation of its outcomes to ensure real economic gains for both nations.

Prime Minister Ghrieb, echoing the same spirit, saluted the historical depth of the relations binding the two peoples and reaffirmed the determination of their respective leaders to advance bilateral cooperation. He highlighted the opportunities for complementary partnerships within the frameworks of Arab and continental free-trade zones, noting that the Ninth Session embodies the strategic directives issued by President Tebboune and President Al-Sissi during the latter’s official visit to Egypt in October of last year.

Ghrieb emphasized that this session reflects the shared vision of transforming political goodwill into concrete achievements capable of enhancing the integration of Algerian and Egyptian economies and strengthening their collective influence regionally.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by a high-level ministerial delegation, including the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Saïd Sayoud; the Minister of Finance, Abdelkrim Bouzred; the Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir; the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid; the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjal; the Minister of Housing, Urbanism, the City and Territorial Planning, Mohamed Tarek Belaribi; and the Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Arhab Nassima, in addition to Algeria’s Ambassador to Cairo, Mohamed Sofiane Berrah.
