Survey: Algerian CEOs prioritise growth, innovation and economic sovereignty
BY Dr. Hana Saada
Algerian business leaders remain broadly optimistic about economic prospects and are sustaining investment despite global uncertainty, according to findings presented at the second edition of the PwC CEO Survey Algeria in Algiers.
Held at the International Conference Centre (CIC), the forum brought together senior policymakers, executives and experts to assess economic priorities under the theme of sovereignty and resilience, with discussions spanning energy and mining, digital and health sovereignty, and the investment climate.
Results from the survey indicate that 83% of Algerian CEOs expect national economic growth over the next 12 months, while 43% plan to maintain or increase major investments. Inflation is identified as the principal risk by 55% of respondents.
Strategic focus is increasingly shifting towards technology and innovation. Half of surveyed executives cite cybersecurity and technological sovereignty as core priorities, while 47% view innovation as a key driver of long-term growth.
The findings, part of PwC’s global CEO survey covering 4,500 executives across 105 countries, highlight an emerging alignment between domestic business strategies and global economic trends, particularly in response to structural and geopolitical pressures.
The forum reinforced its role as a platform for dialogue between public and private stakeholders, as Algeria seeks to balance competitiveness with economic sovereignty.
