Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni reaffirmed the strength of bilateral relations during a phone call, highlighting growing economic and energy cooperation while welcoming progress under the Mattei Plan.

ALGIERS, Algeria — Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune held a telephone conversation on Monday with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, during which the two leaders reviewed the state of bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership between Algeria and Italy.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic, President Tebboune and Prime Minister Meloni expressed their satisfaction with the excellent level of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the economic sector and, more specifically, in the field of energy.
The two leaders also welcomed the progress achieved within the framework of the Mattei Plan, underscoring the continued momentum of bilateral cooperation and the growing strategic importance of the Algerian-Italian partnership.
During the conversation, President Tebboune thanked Prime Minister Meloni for the condolences she conveyed to him and to the Algerian people following the tragic fire that struck a state childcare institution, claiming several lives.
