25th Sitev Closes: A Showcase Of Immersive Tourism And Cultural Exchange

The curtain fell on the 25th edition of the International Tourism and Travel Exhibition (SITEV) in Algiers, concluding a multi-day event that brought together tourism operators, cultural representatives and travel agencies in a dense, colour-rich environment designed to promote both domestic and international destinations.

Held at the Exhibition Palace (SAFEX), the event drew steady visitor flows across its exhibition halls, where tourism offerings were interwoven with live cultural performances, traditional crafts and regional displays, reflecting a broad spectrum of Algeria’s cultural and geographic diversity alongside international participation.

Exhibitors from multiple countries showcased tourism packages and experiential products aimed at both Algerian and foreign markets, with a growing emphasis on digital platforms, flexible payment schemes and tailored travel solutions. Several agencies highlighted increasing demand for structured instalment-based travel plans, particularly for high-demand destinations such as Türkiye, as well as rising interest in emerging Asian destinations.

The exhibition also served as a commercial interface for domestic tourism development, with national operators promoting coastal, Saharan and cultural circuits. Offers ranged from budget-friendly domestic stays to premium packages, reflecting a widening segmentation of the Algerian tourism market.

A notable feature of this year’s edition was the integration of start-ups and digital platforms offering aggregated travel services, enabling users to compare prices, book accommodations and design customised itineraries through online interfaces, signalling a gradual shift in the sector towards digitised distribution models.

Foreign exhibitors, including Iran, Malaysia and Chad, used the platform to strengthen bilateral tourism visibility, while also signalling intentions to deepen cooperation with Algerian travel operators. Participants highlighted strong visitor engagement and the informal cultural atmosphere as key drivers of interest throughout the event.

Beyond its commercial dimension, SITEV 2026 functioned as a soft-power platform for cultural diplomacy, blending hospitality, heritage and economic exchange within a single exhibition space.
