Algeria Opens University Placement Results Portal as 97% of New Baccalaureate Holders Secure Preferred Choices
The Ministry of Higher Education has opened the online platform for the 2026 university orientation results, with Minister Kamel Baddari announcing that nearly all successful candidates were assigned to one of their preferred study options, while a second registration phase will be available for the remaining applicants.

ALGIERS — Algeria’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Thursday launched the online platform allowing newly admitted baccalaureate graduates to consult their university placement results for the 2026 academic year, as Higher Education Minister Kamel Baddari announced that 97% of students secured one of their preferred academic choices.
The ministry confirmed that the university orientation platform became accessible at 11:00 a.m. through the official portal, enabling successful candidates to verify the university programme to which they have been assigned.
The announcement coincided with a press conference during which Baddari presented the results of the national university orientation process.
According to the minister, 391,018 students were successfully assigned to higher education institutions out of 403,119 new baccalaureate holders who completed their applications through the ministry’s digital orientation platform.
Digital orientation process
Baddari said the results demonstrate the effectiveness of Algeria’s digital university orientation system, noting that 97% of newly admitted students obtained one of the study programmes they had selected during the application process.
The remaining 3% of applicants who were not assigned to one of their preferred choices will be granted a second opportunity to complete a new registration process.
The minister announced that the supplementary registration period will run from Friday, July 31, through August 2, allowing affected students to submit new academic preferences before the final allocation of remaining university places.
The university orientation process forms a key stage in Algeria’s annual higher education admissions cycle and is managed entirely through the ministry’s digital platform as part of broader efforts to modernize public services and streamline student enrollment procedures.
